The Event Publication/Lookup Control Service is a basic service that is used to define external event publication service intergation. When there is a requirement to immediatly publish or subscribe to events in an external (non defined peer group) repository, this service is used to define the location and rules involved. This module exposes all external resources as services just like internal services.

An example would be the publication of or subscription to events held in the EPCglobal repository at Verisign, or a corporate repository.Once defined and verified (tested) in this module, these points can be referenced as events in a workflow by group, user, location etc. .

If a particular transaction requires all messages to be published to a corporate server, that server needs to be configured in this module and then added to the workflow. In some cases publication may also be required for a particular participant, event type, group or location and triggers for these events can also be configured in the workflow.

Subscriptions to external repositories may also be required by workflow, user, group or transaction to provide messages generated by a non peer. In order to include this data in the local repository the external resource must first be configured in this module.
